Being a celebrity on social media opens you up to getting to interact with your biggest fans. It also opens you up to your biggest critics when you voice your opinion. For your amusement, here are the times Joshua Gates of "Expedition Unknown," "Destination Truth" and "Legendary Locations" got savage when replying to mean tweets. ![]() Oh, this old chestnut. When someone says that Josh does not "find anything" on his shows. I have spent many years as the fan site runner of this site trying to explain to people that you can't always throw a net over a cryptozoology creature or a ghost. Also, the nature of researching historical mysteries does not guarantee a major discovery. It's about travel and learning about new cultures. So this reply = YES. ![]() Gosh darn it, I have no idea how this tweet slipped through the cracks with me! On a daily basis, I see questions about why Travel Channel advertises "new" Destination Truth episodes and get a lot of confused, or angry tweets, asking what the deal is. Travel Channel is airing them out of order from how they were originally shot and aired on Syfy. But it's nice to see Josh address it on his end. ![]() This is as clear cut as it gets. A public figure is a person, too. They are allowed to have their own opinion about politics. Especially when someone is in a position of having influence, it is important that they try to open their fans up to different points of view. I think he handled this nicely. It IS possible to separate a TV show host, or actor, or singer from their politics. ![]() This one is not so much Josh replying to a hater. This is him using his platform to bring light to an important issue. As a very frequent traveler, Josh sees the impact that his fellow travelers and the travel industry has on the world. Him bringing this issue of wasting resources on to go food at a hotel is very enlightening. It is easy when you travel to forget the impact that the plastic utensils we use, and the travel size bottles we throw out, and the take out we consume on the road have on the environment. Kudos to Josh and I hope that Marriott took this eye opening photo into account for their hotels. Finally, my favorite time Josh just said IDGAF on Twitter was when he went head to head with McDonalds after watching one of their Super Bowl ads in 2015. Priceless. I'm lovin' it. What are YOUR favorite Josh Gates sassy tweets?

I noticed he wasn’t wearing his wedding ring anymore a while ago. He definitely was wearing it sitting at that desk and on the show...hmmm,

I appreciate Josh and all he does and all he shares. His shows are inspirational, exciting, educational and just plain fun to watch. All those that are full of negativity need to change the channel. :)

Josh, This goes back awhile. You an episode re:WWIi;particularly DDay. I along with my two sons(USAF),father,USMarines(Pacific),three uncle's,Navy and Marines and late husband ,Navy; regarding StMarieEglies in regards to the fact you only mentioned the one paratrooper who was alive and hanging from a church stepple. What about the numerous paratroopers who were shot like ducks in a shooting gallery hanging dead from trees and buildings, etc. Why did you choose to ignore them and their sacrifice???
