![]() The airing schedule for "Expedition Unknown" is quite interesting this week. We get two new episodes this week, kind of! On Wednesday the 1st, from 7 p.m. EST through the rest of the night, there is an all night marathon on Travel Channel. At 9 p.m .EST, there is a new episode of "Expedition Unknown," then after a re-run of another episode, a special will premiere at 11 p.m. EST called "Josh Gates: After Dark." While this sounds a little X-rated, it's a special about the nightlife in Dubai. I do not know if this will become a series in itself, so check it out to make sure it has successful ratings and can possibly continue! Otherwise for airing, there is an all night marathon on Friday after "Ghost Adventures" & there's a single rerun on Saturday morning. You can check bonus photos and clips from the show HERE Reminder - "Destination Truth" was canceled in 2014 by Syfy, a television network owned by NBC Universal. The cast and crew did not just decide to stop filming it, so please be nice to them on social media, when asking about the subject.

![]() The airing schedule for "Expedition Unknown" this week on Travel Channel is as follows (this is from their site, so be sure to also check local listings and account for your time zone):
In other news, check out this post on "Destination Truth" collectibles HERE and check out the current auction going on, with part of the proceeds going to the organization of an ex "DT" cast member by clicking HERE. Thanks, guys! ![]() Hi guys! Be sure to check out this auction for the following items: a special edition printed copy of the "Fan Guide to Destination Truth" with a foreword by Josh Gates, two pieces of art from the author of the book and this fan site runner (one of the pieces is "DT" themed art), and some fun BigFoot themed candies! 10% of the proceeds will go to the Maine Veterans Project, which is an organization run by Shawn Goodwin, who was an on-camera "DT" crew member as a medic. LINK TO AUCTION HERE ![]() Next year will be 10 years since I've been running this fan site for my fellow fans of Joshua Gates, Destination Truth, Expedition Unknown, and related lovely folks such as Erin Ryder, Rex Williams, Gabe Copeland, Shawn Goodwin, Brad Kuhlman, and more fine people. It continues to be a fun experience and I wanted to share with you guys my favorite collectibles I have gotten oven the years. One item I am proud of is the DT Antarctic Expedition patch pictured above. This is an authentic patch that the crew made for that grand episode. A few other fans were sent some as a Twitter contest Josh was doing, so let me know if you also still have yours! ![]() I also love this signed copy of Josh's book. It was great when Josh first shared the news on DT Fan Radio about the book's existence (he was still writing it, at the time). He even read a portion of it on a later episode of that show about a week before it was released (listen here). If you still have not read this book yet, I definitely recommend it. You can also see behind the book the "Fan Guide to Destination Truth" poking out in this photo. This is the book I wrote with my husband, as well as an intro from Josh himself, which was an experience I was really proud to be part of. If you purchase the book, it will help to support this fan site. AHEM, moving on from that cheap plug. ![]() The last item of mention is this All Access pass from the live special that took place in Ireland that happened on St. Patty's Day. Erin Ryder sent this to me and I was happy (and shocked) to receive it. That live special was terrific. I hope that you guys had the chance to experience when it was on the air in its entirety, but the abbreviated version is also on iTunes. I want to know what your guys' favorite collectibles are from this time period when DT was on the air are. Do you have any of these same items? Maybe an autograph you got from one of the cast members at a convention? Did you get your hands on one of the coveted press kit items? Leave a comment below! -Amanda ![]() Hi guys. I'm sure, being fans of "Destination Truth" and "Expedition Unknown," you remember Brad Kuhlman. Recently, Brad did an amazing passion project - a documentary called "Where Have You Gone, Lou DiMaggio?" He not only directed and produced it, but he also fully funded it himself. I had the honor of being able to see a screener of this film. As a review, I can tell you the film was a really wonderful cinematic piece with a very humble, honest and inspiring message, to those who view it. ![]() In a nutshell: this film follows once-comedian Lou DiMaggio, who was a big comedian in the 1980's, who was in social standing with the likes of Susie Essman, Joy Behar, Larry David, and many more comedy legends. The film follows his journey, as he wants to return to his passion of stand up comedy. Lou left the world of stand up to fulfill his manifest destiny by going West to Los Angeles for an entertainment career, as well as personal struggles steering him away. While finding some success as a writer (he won an Emmy for being a writer for Ben Stein), he now admits it was a mistake to walk away. "My life back," is what Lou says at the start of the film, when Director Brad asks what he wants or hopes to get out of this film. "I'd like to look in the mirror and say, 'you're a comic again.'" The beginning of the film definitely sets the tone, as we focus on the hopeful but melancholy demeanor of Lou. The exposition is set, as he is rummaging through old boxes to find old material books, his dusty Emmy Awards, as well as some drug paraphernalia. Lou seeks out the advice of his friends in comedy, which includes the likes of Howie Mandel, Ray Romano, Jeff Garlin, and the aforementioned Larry David. Some of the advice is encouraging, while others full-on discourage him (even his wife!) In the end, he takes the leap, goes to a comedy workshop, and revisits old material. I can tell you there is a joke about pants that made me laugh out loud! ![]() The film has a marvelous message of pursuing what you are passionate about not because of money, or fame, or trying to chase down your past, but to be true to yourself and do what you are passionate about, despite adversity. I definitely recommend you check it out, when possible! I will say some saucy language is used, so remember it's PG13. You can follow the film's official Twitter account HERE, the Facebook Page HERE, as well as the official website HERE. ![]() Hi guys. There is a marathon on this Wednesday night on the Travel Channel of "Expedition Unknown" starting at 7 p.m. EST. There is a new episode at 9 p.m. EST, which is another "Global Game Show" episode, where Josh Gates quizzes travelers on their worldly knowledge. These episodes also have bonus footage meshed in. I would refer to your local listings and to TravelChannel.com/schedule for more info on reruns. I also want to say my heart goes out to the fans who waited in line to see Josh at the AAA Travel Show in Ohio this past weekend, but did not get to meet Josh because he had to leave early to catch a flight. These things happen, but I know Josh appreciates each and every single one of you <3 With all the stress from the latest election and the aftermath, how about some funny tweets from our favorite "Destination Truth" cast members? PS - this post is not taking a political stance. I am just sharing screenshots of tweets. Please do not leave hateful comments. ![]() Here is a funny tweet from Josh Gates from February of 2016, where he poked fun at a typo from Trump. This was while we were still in the campaign process here in America. I don't know if Josh is going to actually move to Canada, but... ![]() Then, here is a post Josh made on Election Night, before the results were announced. Thankfully, California has had a lot of rain recently, but I think this was more a commentary on people at each other's throats, in this process. ![]() Here is a bit more humor from Josh on inauguration day, 2017. ![]() This was a bold statement from our resident "mouthy blonde" Erin Ryder. She has taken up the cause of reproductive health rights, as well as other issues, on her social media accounts. Here is a shot she posted from the country wide women's march recently. I appreciate Ryder having the bravery to do something like this, and come on, she is holding a printout of ovaries. I mean... ![]() In the end, the best election tweet goes to Rex Williams, but I might be biased. |
