Mike's Encounter, Oct. 2008 - Deleware City, DE

Mike's Encounter:

I had gone down with my mother, since she is a huge Ghost Hunters fan to Delaware City to see if we could see them. Apparently they had a autograph session Oct 30th and it was overcrowded with people wanting to see Jason and Grant that it ended early.

So we had a nice lunch and walked across the street to where the Ft. Delaware ferry launches. There were a few people there and one DNREC (Park Ranger) there setting up a barricade. Well we were there for about an hour when a tour bus rolled up. Off came some production crew for Ghost Hunters, and Steve Valentine (Estate of Panic). My mom got a good picture with him.

Well right after they crossed the gate to go over to the ferry, the Girl im talking with turned around and greeted who we thought was another GH fan, it turned out to be Josh Gates who came from nowhere. He wasn't on the Bus as he came walking from a completely different direction. Well the girl screamed "Oh my GOD! JOSH GATES!" and people were pretty much "Who?" He was very polite, greeted some of his fans and took a picture with the excited girl.

I asked him "Mr. Gates, I love Destination Truth and would love to get a picture with you". His response was "Sure, put your arm around me get close, don't be shy". Which resulted in the perfect picture. Everyone was expecting Ghost Hunters, I got to meet Josh Gates and missed out on Ghost Hunters because they were swarmed and rushed past us by DNREC. All in all, a very even trade.
