Josh was so amused by a piece of fan art I RT'ed and brought to his attention during a recent fan Q&A on Twitter that he not only commented on it, but made it his profile picture on the social networking site! Check out what Brandt had to say about it, and also why he makes art for the cast of "DT" and other shows: "I remember watching 'In Search Of' as a kid and wanting to know the 'Truth' about Bigfoot, Nessie, UFOs and Ghosts. Josh searches for the truth the same way I would, getting his hands dirty and going after it with his team. Destination Truth shows what an incredible journey searching for the truth can be. I hope that these pictures I make give them a bit of a smile when they are away and to thank them for taking us on such an enjoyable ride."

Okay, I wasn't initially going to do a Fan of the Week because I was busy working on two videos this weekend (including the upcoming fan video for the DT cast and crew), but I had to share this story & the photos:
"Sunday at Comic Con 2010 was wrap-up day. It was lunch time and my friend and I wanted to enjoy eating at the SyFy cafe [the Cafe Diem] one last time. We've had good memories there. We knew that Josh Gates should be in there as I had met him the prior year (2009 - photo, left) there as well. My friend said 'I wish your BFF or Kris Williams would show up.' We were waiting for our friends to join us at our table. I had turned around to look for them at the door. Next to a table standing up and chatting was Kris from Ghost Hunters. We went over to get a photo. Only later to realize that she was hanging with Josh. They were about to leave when I went over to Kris and Josh and asked for a photo. This photo (to the right) was taken by Kris. I asked Josh what they liked about Comic Con. He told me he had fun hosting the Sanctuary panel. I told him I missed the meet up but I was happy I found them at the cafe again like last year. He thanked me and told me I'll see him at this restaurant next year. So here is to hoping my luck will be true." "I wrote [to Josh, via Myspace in 2007] after he was on GHI for the Frankenstein's castle episode. I wrote that I thought he was 'nice, young, and spicy' because that's what the German man said about the naked ghost and I almost peed laughing during the episode! I said that I loved DT and then I told him that my little guy was fuzzy, diminutive and mischievous and therefore has earned the title 'Tokoloshe'! I wrote that he lives in Harrisburg if he'd like to investigate! Josh wrote back: 'Dear Larissa, Thanks for the support! Tell your Tokoloshe hi from me! Cheers, Josh'. That's my story!" The photo above is Larissa's submission to the upcoming fan video being released in mid-January for the crew's return.
These two ladies share FOTW for the first week of 2011. Holly subscribed to NetFlix just so she could get to watch old "DT" episodes, as well as spreading the word to people she knows about the show and using the show to help her overcome the recent loss of a family pet. Holliann, who is from Maine, has even felt so effected by the show and seeing these places around the world that she's considering joining the Peace Corps!
