An Article by Amanda Rosenblatt
You know the saying "the hardest working person in show business"? Aside from the fact that you can't distinguish one single person who works the hardest, it would be safe to say that the crew of the Syfy series "Destination Truth" are without a doubt among an elite few of the hardest working people in reality television.
When speaking to several cast members of the past two years for this show, particularly from the three in this article, there is a general consensus for being employed with this particular production. It's 24/7, it's difficult, it doesn't provide for the best smelling surroundings, and you rarely can digest food for months, but it's the best experience any of the cast members have ever had in their entire lives.

Josh Gates is a man who is accustomed to change. As the host of 'Destination Truth' on Syfy and a member of The Explorer's Club, he travels for a living and has cameras following him and his crew for a better part of the year.
'Destination Truth' has recently begun airing Season 4 and he decided to sit down on BlogTalkRadio for a talk with fans about the show before it aired. Not even five minutes into the call, it was right down to business.

Homemade captions for this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlgH39p4EuUHi, my name is Joshua Gates, I am 24 years old, I live in Los Angeles California, and I am applying to be a contestant on ESPN's "Beg Borrow and BS [bullsh*t]". Rather than tell you why I would be a great contestant for your show, I'm gonna try and show you. I'm gonna attempt to BS my way into Walt Disneyland here in Anaheim California, which is notorious for having very tight security, so wish me luck! (a conversation ensues between Josh and the greeter/ticket taker where Josh says he left his brother's inhaler in a Main Street Disney restaurant. it doesn't look like Josh is getting in without a ticket until he says that his brother is having an asthma attack right now in the parking garage and he is reluctantly let in as long as he comes right back to check in with him)

Amanda: Caller 808, you’re on the air.
Caller 808: Hello?
Josh Gates & Brad Kuhlman: Hello.
Caller 808: Hi. Thanks for having me on. I have a question for you guys. How long do you normally spend out when you’re researching a certain subject?
Brad: Well, we have a research period that we do in our offices in Los Angeles and typically it’s about anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks, depending on how many episodes are ordered. And we spend that time, you know, finding the stories that we’re going to cover, finding local people in the countries we’re going to, to sort of aid us in our trip there, and it’s a bit of a jigsaw puzzle trying to put a trip like that together. It’s a bunch of countries, one after the other, and it’s a lot of travel. So it’s about six weeks, actually.

AMANDA: Tonight we have producer Brad Kuhlman, and again on the show, we have Josh Gates. Both producers of Destination Truth on SyFy, but I’m guessing you know, everybody that’s listening already knows that. So, [the new season of] this hit show on SyFy premiered earlier last month and Josh was on the show before the premiere of Episode 1 of Season 3 and since then ratings and the numbers for the show have sky rocketed out of control. The show each premiere night has over 2 million viewers and it’s really competing well with Ghost Hunters, which is kind of the forerunner for the show … So, right now, without further ado, here’s Brad and Josh. Hey guys!
BRAD KUHLMAN AND JOSH GATES: Hey Amanda!

LINDSEY: I am. How are ya'll?
JOSH GATES: Hi Lindsey. How ya doing?
L: I'm doing great. How about you Josh?
J: I'm great, thanks. It's a little hot here in California. Other than that, I'm doing great.
L: Well you know, it's surprising cool here in Louisiana. So I'm shocked.
J: See? … The whole world upside down.

In the first part of this fan Q&A on my radio show, Josh discusses what it takes to be part of the "DT" crew, how they maintain their health on the road, and my fellow fans surprise me by saying I deserve a cameo.
AMANDA: Alright, time for the fans, are you ready?
JOSH GATES: I’m ready. I’m definitely ready.
AMANDA: Alright, we have Elijah from Massachusetts. You there?
ELIJAH: I am here! Hi Amanda, hi Josh.
JOSH: Hello!
ELIJAH: So Josh, in a recent interview, you said you were having trouble finding people who could keep up with you and take the harsh conditions while traveling and filming. Is that still the case?
