This update took the longest I've ever put into a site update (4 hrs last night & 1 this morning), so here we go:
  • finally made multiple, themed photo galleries! Click HERE to see all the galleries :)
  • fixed the navigation bars & added to or created the following pages: About Site Creator, Josh Quotes, Syfy Channel, Singularity Staff Page, Contact/Legal and more. Feel free to roam around the navigation bar for all the changes!

Finally purchased a domain name for the fan site as a treat for the three year anniversary (will credit the other big donor on the next site update once the eBay auction ends) and gave her a bit of a make over :) it's by no means complete, but this is the new layout and such. What do you think? Please leave comments and scroll down to the latest update for the legit news and contests LOL

This morning (on 11/11/11) Josh informed me of and then I revealed news of the next book signing he has scheduled! It will be on 12/2/11 Friday 10 a.m. in NYC at the NBC Experience Store, 30 Rockefeller Center! Yes, it's on a weekday, but it's a day that is right next to the weekend, so it works more logically if you're requesting for a day off or pulling your kids from school to go meet Josh. I'll be going and most likely will wait in line early, so if you want to be part of my line posse AKA someone to sit with while waiting, email me at DTfanambassador@yahoo.com :) THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL SIGNINGS SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME. Also, an added tip if you want to bring your kids to the signing but they'll need to be pulled out of school - have your kids offer for their teachers to write a book report about Josh's book or an essay about Josh Gates in return for staying out of classes for the day to meet Josh. This could also work for college students, in a more grown up educational form of course ;) 

On a side note, I found further articles from Josh's presence at the Syfy Press Tour in Orlando Florida in October HERE & HERE and both sites include some nice photos, including this HQ one HERE

  • Still can't quite go into the news Josh told me, but I can tell you two things: it'll involve another book signing, or possible multiple ones! As for where it/they will be, I'll just give you this hint HERE haha ;)  
  • Posted a list of international retailers, as well as USA retailers, where you can get Josh's book or "DT" merchandise HERE PS - thanks to Aislynn for her help in researching for this 
  • CONTEST TIME! Want to win a signed copy of Josh's book?! Are you good with graphics? Make me a banner for the upcoming fan site overhaul and if I choose to use it, you'll win! Make a banner with either photos I've taken, regular stock photos of Josh, or just something artsy/improvised that you feel represents this site. I just require that it be horizontal so it can sit along the top of the page and have the words "Singularity: a Josh Gates & Destination Truth Fan Site". DEADLINE: November 13th, 10 p.m. EST Email banners to DTfanambassador@yahoo.com PS - feel free to send multiple designs!

Hey guys. This is sort of an abbreviated update:
  • BIG NEWS coming soon, as soon as Josh says it's okay to share. HINT: it's about more book signings. I'll give one more hint and just say "northeast". In the meantime, please do Josh a favor - "Not sure if you follow Ain't it Cool News, but every year one of their writers, Quint, puts up a huge Geek-centric holiday gift guide. Someone recommended we get the DT book on his list - I think that would be a great idea. Quint's email is quint@aintitcool.com" Let's consider it an early Holiday present for Josh and do this for him, Truthies!

  • I'll soon have contests where I'll be giving out autograph "Memoirs" copies, as well as I think one or two signed Josh head shots! thanks to Michelle and Erica for the generous donations that will soon be received 
  • I'm compiling a list of international retailers so that ALL "DT" fans can get their own copy of Josh's book

  • Want to meet Josh?! If you are able to get to Huntington Beach CA this Sunday the 6th before 2 p.m., go to the Barnes and Noble to attend Josh's first ever formal book signing! It is highly recommended you show up a minimum of an hour before the event's start - even if there isn't a line, you can get a decent parking spot early, maybe purchase your book (or extra copies) ahead of time, or maybe grab a bite to eat.   • Josh did a great job hosting "GH" live the other day! A couple of my favorite behind-the-scenes photos from the event from Josh are HERE and HERE. I also started a support tweet for Josh that I nagged into the top tweet position with 100+ retweets :) great work, Truthies! See the tweet HERE
  • They had a promo with brand new footage for the new season of "DT", anticipated to return in January of 2012 (date TBA). HERE is some really horrible footage of the promo that I took on my digi cam for everyone :)
