On March 24th, Josh Gates shared a photo on Twitter of a fan named Sean he met through the Make a Wish foundation. I sought out Sean's family to help share his story and make him fan of the week. I ended up finding his mom, Patricia, who told me Sean is thrilled to be Fan of the Week! His story is HERE and more photos of their meeting is HERE.

From Will, who made the piece of art above - "My art is kind of like doing a tattoo on a piece of wood with dremels and different types of routers. I've been watching DT from day one - I get a kick out of Josh gates humor. He's quick. I think My wife has a crush on him. I have a webpage I just put up the other day with some of my art I have done for myself as well as others www.pyroportraitsbywillfleming.com "

On a recent DT Fan Radio special, I was able to get Kellie from Week 16th's FOTW to talk to Josh, Ryder & Brad. It was a really touching moment and you can download the special on the homepage HERE (it's the special from 3.10.11) and listen around the 17 minute mark. Also, Marguerite from Week 5's FOTW let me know she received a package in the mail from Erin Ryder, as I pointed out to Ryder this family's fandom for the female DT crew member. She let me know the package had a "signed Erin pic, two snaps from the show (Erin in desert and Erin Josh and elephant) and DT postcard with unknown stamp with season premiere info on back. We are fighting over the Josh pic :) Jamie is really happy..."

Judging on the outpouring of support regarding her story, it was natural to make Kellie Fan of the Week. Read her story HERE

Brad, who I met last July at Comic Con, is a devoted "DT" fan. He was the first to show up to the "DT" fan meet up with Josh, as well as Rex from "DT" and Kris with Amy from "Ghost Hunters", and he's kept up consistently with contributing to the fan community since. He has sent me some suggestions for this site's cryptid list that I need to research and he even snagged a shot of Josh with the alleged Yeti foot print in the latest version of Ripley's HERE. Thanks Brad!

Erica, pictured above with her recently acquired Rex Williams (DT medic, Seasons 3 & 3.5) autograph & says - "Well I came into DT near the end of season 2, but since then have gotten caught up on the whole show.  I got into DT basically by leaving syfy on one night after watching Ghost Hunters. I had left the tv on just for the noise while I did some homework, DT came on and immediatly caught my attention...I love everything about Destination Truth, the investigations, the crew, the places. DT helps me feel like I can travel anywhere in the world and it's like taking a trip to a different part of the world every week. Since finding all the fan sites for DT, my love for the show has only gotten greater, I enjoyed talking with Josh last fall on BlogTalk Radio and I look forward to talking with him again soon...(hopefully) My favorite ep of DT so far is Nan Madol, it was just a neat investigation even though it didn't turn out well for Josh...Thank goodness there are medics like Shawn and Rex on DT's side...DT is a great show with great fans, there may not be as many of us as say like the major networks like CBS and FOX, but we love our show and I honestly can't find a better show on TV right now."

Fan Jay got to meet Josh and some of the "DT" crew a few weeks back. I came across the photo and shared it on my Twitter, then Josh noticed and RT'ed it, so the photo now has thousands of views! Read his full story HERE

Josh was so amused by a piece of fan art I RT'ed and brought to his attention during a recent fan Q&A on Twitter that he not only commented on it, but made it his profile picture on the social networking site! Check out what Brandt had to say about it, and also why he makes art for the cast of "DT" and other shows: "I remember watching 'In Search Of' as a kid and wanting to know the 'Truth' about Bigfoot, Nessie, UFOs and Ghosts. Josh searches for the truth the same way I would, getting his hands dirty and going after it with his team. Destination Truth shows what an incredible journey searching for the truth can be. I hope that these pictures I make give them a bit of a smile when they are away and to thank them for taking us on such an enjoyable ride."

Okay, I wasn't initially going to do a Fan of the Week because I was busy working on two videos this weekend (including the upcoming fan video for the DT cast and crew), but I had to share this story & the photos:

"Sunday at Comic Con 2010 was wrap-up day. It was lunch time and my friend and I wanted to enjoy eating at the SyFy cafe [the Cafe Diem] one last time. We've had good memories there. We knew that Josh Gates should be in there as I had met him the prior year (2009 - photo, left) there as well. My friend said 'I wish your BFF or Kris Williams would show up.' We were waiting for our friends to join us at our table. I had turned around to look for them at the door. Next to a table standing up and chatting was Kris from Ghost Hunters. We went over to get a photo. Only later to realize that she was hanging with Josh. They were about to leave when I went over to Kris and Josh and asked for a photo. This photo (to the right) was taken by Kris. I asked Josh what they liked about Comic Con. He told me he had fun hosting the Sanctuary panel. I told him I missed the meet up but I was happy I found them at the cafe again like last year. He thanked me and told me I'll see him at this restaurant next year. So here is to hoping my luck will be true."

"I wrote [to Josh, via Myspace in 2007] after he was on GHI for the Frankenstein's castle episode. I wrote that I thought he was 'nice, young, and spicy' because that's what the German man said about the naked ghost and I almost peed laughing during the episode! I said that I loved DT and then I told him that my little guy was fuzzy, diminutive and mischievous and therefore has earned the title 'Tokoloshe'! I wrote that he lives in Harrisburg if he'd like to investigate! Josh wrote back: 'Dear Larissa, Thanks for the support! Tell your Tokoloshe hi from me! Cheers, Josh'. That's my story!" The photo above is Larissa's submission to the upcoming fan video being released in mid-January for the crew's return.
