I will post the video and article at my alt blog Fan-Culture.org once both are up and as I stated in June of 2012 when I saw him, Grant is still not dying, not divorcing, etc. If you use my photos, credit them please. Also, the fan in the photo with Grant at the end is not me (Amanda), but rather @Ryleighblack from Twitter

Not the best photos (below) and video in the world, but I was going more so casually and wanted to share some stuff with the fans. Just to let everyone know - Grant is fine. He's not dying, divorcing, etc. ;)

The review, photo gallery and official video are after the page break!

TAPS ACADEMY REVIEW (video & photos below):

Via TAPSacademy.com, "TAPS Academy is a comprehensive one day informational lecture and investigation training course designed to give investigators and paranormal enthusiasts a solid foundation, from a grounded and scientific approach".

My class today was headed by Kristen Perkins of INsight Paranormal and Chris Schlosser of the VA Paranormal Society, both groups TAPS Family affiliates. They were both not only very friendly, but extremely knowledgeable and well prepared for the class. Even in the presence of a skeptic/heckler in the crowd that would constantly interrupt the class with accusatory questions, assuming that the instructors were "true believers" who were just telling fairy tales about the existence of ghosts, they had legitimate answers for everything.

It was great getting insight from these two TAPS family members. They not only had stories about being in the paranormal field, but some funny side stories about some cast members of "Ghost Hunters" (the TAPS member they stayed with, one of the founders, wasn't too happy to hear about the TAPS office being left in disarray in their absence by affiliates who use the office while the main team is gone).

The course was full of information (perhaps even an overflow of information, to be a little blunt) that anyone getting started or even fully ensconced in paranormal studies could need. As an exclusive for SingularityFanPages.com, the two instructors even offered some answers for some DT Fan queries:

Q: In the alien mummies episode, why did the parabolic dish EMIT noise? Has this ever happened to either one of you? A: Never happened to us. They could always contact the manufacturer to see if there were ever similar complaints about that particular model, but otherwise, it cannot be explained and therefore could be paranormal.

Q: Why do most groups investigate at night? (most of their answers mirrored the ones Josh gave on DT Fan Radio) A: Many investigators work day jobs, residentially speaking there is less contamination when it's night time and the electricity/most electronic devices can be shut off, provides atmosphere, the dark heightens senses, fear of the dark and the general quiet of night produce more reports of activity.

Q: Why does the DT crew react in an embellished way to things that happen compared to other paranormal groups? (mix of their answer, mine and from Josh on DT Fan Radio) A: Other than the fact that they most of the time react to dangerous animals that could attack them, Team Truth gets very little sleep while traveling. Compared to other shows like Ghost Hunters where the group has relatively cushy and easy forms of transportation to actually get to their point of origin (with all due respect), the DT crew often hikes with a lot of equipment and rappels down cliffs, among other activities and extreme exposure to the elements, in order to get to investigation sites on very little sleep. When they lack sleep, they tend to drink a lot of caffeine to keep themselves awake. With this "artificial alertness", it can cause more of a feeling of fight or flight, and toxicology wise, sleep deprivation mixed with caffeine can cause hallucinations or agitation, among other things.

There was a lot of great input and I'll share just a few pieces of advice here: SLR cameras are better if you use a digital camera and to be honest, photos most of the time don't produce the best evidence. Gear more towards a digital camcorder. ALWAYS get products/devices with a USB port since they provide faster uploads. And most importantly, never go on a paranormal investigation alone; groups provide personal safety and evidence credibility.

The only piece of advice I'd offer TAPS Academy would be to cut the class by a couple of hours, perhaps by just printing out a recommended syllabus for students to read up at home about subjects such as Quantum Theory and Metaphysical Theory. I noticed a lot of fellow students getting antsy or almost dozing off from sitting so long and it would be a shame for people to miss out on this class from exhaustion due to information overload. I also would have loved to actually look at or see how the equipment we discussed in class works, but I understand they can't bring everything with them when they travel.

Otherwise, kudos to TAPS Academy and I highly recommend it! I loved getting to be in the TAPS office, the shirt for the students included in the price of admission is adorable and if visiting the TAPs office for the class or just as a fan, have breakfast or lunch at nearby Sunnyside Diner - you'll be supporting a local business, the prices are more than reasonable and the food is great :)

A good number of fans who follow me on Twitter, as well as Christiane, the fan liaison for the show "Fact or Faked," attended the Rolling Hills event this past weekend. Those in attendance included Kris, Barry, Susan & Britt of "Ghost Hunters Int'l", Bill of "Fact or Faked", and Chip from "Paranormal State". Above are various photos from the event and I would suggest joining Christiane's Facebook group for more HERE Below is an exclusive photo taken for this site & "DT"s latest welcome home video

<![CDATA[A Video for a Super Fan, Ryan]]>Sun, 09 Jan 2011 20:03:11 GMThttp://www.singularityfanpages.com/16/post/2011/01/a-video-for-a-super-fan-ryan.html
My friend Ryan from the UK is a huge fan of Lady Gaga (she's called him one of her favorite fans before, has shouted him out during her concerts & even featured him on her Twitter HERE). Unfortunately, as dedicated as he is, Ryan gets a lot of negativity thrown at him and I wanted to do something nice to show him that there are a lot of people in the "Little Monster" fan community that like him for who he is. The video I made for him is HERE and his reaction after watching the video is above :)

<![CDATA[A Piece of DJ AM]]>Tue, 07 Dec 2010 03:06:45 GMThttp://www.singularityfanpages.com/16/post/2010/12/a-piece-of-dj-am.html
All the times DJ AM had a gig in Boston MA from 2008 onward, blocks away from where I lived, I'd always say "I'll catch him next time" because I either didn't want to spend money or wanted to study. When he made his first appearance in Providence RI in the summer of 2009, I felt guilty I still wasn't employed post-graduation, so I thought it wasn't appropriate I go out to a club and I thought I would catch DJ AM in October. On August 28, 2009 on a rainy summer day, I ran out of "next times".
DJ AM was an amazing person who I looked up to. He came from a very rough background, struggling with weight issues, suicidal tendencies, depression, and substance abuse, and spent a great part of his life delving himself into his passion, surrounding himself in music. He even overcame a plane crash that killed all but two people on-board (the other being Travis Barker of one of my favorite bands, Blink182).

I remember a quote from his final gig, in front of a large crowd of people - "Are you guys f***ed up? I'm not!" He spent night after night in clubs surrounded by people under the influence and he had pride in his then long-running sobriety. I am not much of a drinker, I do not smoke and I have never done drugs, so I admired DJ AM, who was a pretty cool person, spreading the message of sobriety and even helping young adults with their issues, especially with the MTV show "Gone Too Far".

After DJ AM passed away, I felt a lot of regret for never seeing him perform live. I made it my mission to own some piece of his legacy. Other than being sent some awesome stickers from his family after donating to his posthumous organization (I don't have the heart to peel the stickers and put them on anything), I tried to own a pair of his epic sneaker collection. Unfortunately, I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on one item (except my computer, which is paid off), so I gave up.

Then, I heard his record collection was being sold in LA in the winter of 2010, to which I hoped I could get part of it via eBay. Luckily enough, nearly a month later, here is a record now sitting in my room that DJ AM owned. To know he could have used and enjoyed this item, possibly even used it in a remix, is overwhelming and I will cherish this piece of pop culture history. RIP DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein.

I obliged. Hilarity followed.

<![CDATA[Larry of "Fact or Faked" Birthday Video Contest]]>Sat, 27 Nov 2010 04:22:48 GMThttp://www.singularityfanpages.com/16/post/2010/11/larry-of-fact-or-faked-birthday-video-contest.html
I made THIS HORRIBLE VIDEO for Larry of "Fact or Faked" for a contest he held, in which he would give out one of his autographed ties to a fan. The video was supposed to be completely different, but I am unfortunately suffering from a longstanding cough that I've seen multiple doctors for which won't go away, so I couldn't sing a song spoof I had written. The deadline was November 26th, his birthday. I didn't win, but Larry appears to have been tickled by the video. His reaction is above.
